The smile says it all - Grinstead's Men are back to winning ways!

Happy Harris after beating Hampstead & Westminster 4-1

Sunday 7th October '07 saw the much anticipated kick start to Grinstead's season with a commanding 4-1 win away to Hampstead & Westminster in the SEHL Premier Division. Historically a tough away game at what can only be described as a sub-tandard municipal facility where preparations were less than ideal; Grinstead got down to business and found the kind of resolve and determination that we have become accustomed to over the past few seasons. Goals from Ben Payne who was on top form along with Dave De Prez (2) and Danny Hall sealed the win ensuring that the 'Saint Hill Squad' prepare for this weekend's vital double header of league games flying high.

This weekends Men's 1st XI Fixtures

Sat 13th Oct - EG v Bowdon @ 2pm (Saint Hill)

Sun 14th Oct - Canterbury v EG @ 1pm (Polo Farm)

George Pitcher

It is with deep regret we hear of the passing away of George Pitcher. George had a been a member and Vice President of the Hockey Club for over 30years. He was a very loyal supporter and a key member of the supporters club known as the ‘Sherry Brigade’.

George was always willing to lend a hand to support the club and in his later years was responsible for writing the 1stXI match report which he did with great style and enthusiasm. He was renowned for his helpful comments during matches and watching will never be the same without Georges loud and clear voice booming out ‘What’s wrong umpire’ at every opportune moment. George will be sadly missed, his contribution to the club was very significant and much appreciated, he will be dearly missed by young and old alike.

The funeral will be held on Friday 31st, at Leatherhead Crematorium, at 9.30am
